Ledger Live is the official companion application for Ledger hardware wallets, such as Ledger Nano S Plus, Ledger Nano X, or Ledger Stax. It allows you to manage your crypto assets securely in one place. Through Ledger Live, you can check balances, send and receive coins, stake crypto, and even access DeFi apps — all while keeping your private keys offline.
To get started, visit ledger.com/ledger-live. Download Ledger Live for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android).
For desktops: Click Download and follow your OS installation steps.
For mobiles: Download from the App Store or Google Play.
Once installed, open the app and accept the terms of use.
If you’re new:
Connect your Ledger device via USB or Bluetooth (for Ledger Nano X).
Follow on-screen instructions to initialize your wallet.
Create a PIN code on the device.
Write down your 24-word recovery phrase and store it securely. This is your backup if the device is lost.
If you already have a device, choose ‘Restore from Recovery Phrase’ instead.
Plug in your Ledger wallet and unlock it with your PIN.
Ledger Live will detect your device and ensure it’s genuine by verifying its firmware. If updates are available, install them.
In Ledger Live, click on ‘Accounts’ and select ‘Add Account’.
Choose the crypto asset you want to manage, like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana.
Your device will prompt you to open the corresponding app. Ledger Live then synchronizes the blockchain data and adds your account to the dashboard.
Repeat this for each asset you wish to manage.
To receive crypto:
Click ‘Receive’ in Ledger Live.
Select the relevant account.
Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
Verify that the address shown in Ledger Live matches the one on your device screen.
Copy the verified address and share it with the sender.
Always verify on your device to prevent address tampering.
To send:
Click ‘Send’.
Enter the recipient’s address and amount.
Connect and unlock your Ledger.
Confirm the transaction details on your device.
Approve and sign the transaction securely.
Ledger Live isn’t just a wallet. You can:

Swap tokens using integrated partners.
Buy crypto directly in the app via trusted on-ramps.

All transactions still require your device’s physical approval, keeping your assets secure.
